Here's an overview of the places I'll be traveling to in 2008. When I'm not on the road, I hang out in Northern Nevada and California, playing in the greater Reno/Tahoe area. What, are you nuts? Travel in January? It's snowing, and I'm going skiing!
What? It's still snowing? I'm going to Florida for two weeks! Oh wait, after that I'm headed back to snow country again. Utah, here I come! Really cool venues, and the Greatest Snow on Earth . . .
It's a mini-tour early in the month: Vallejo, CA and Kirkwook, CA. Mid-month, it's
back to Utah, this time with my friend Phil Prunier on guitar, and one date with Phil and Fingers, the 1990 US National Freestyle Fiddle Champ.
One weekend in L.A. for a songwriter's convention, the following weekend it's back to
So Cal for a mini-tour of San Diego and the Greater L.A. area.
It's off to the Bay Area in the middle of the month . . . including a stop at Six Flags, where I play three shows on Sunday, May 18.
As of this writing, things have not solidified for the summer season. I'll definitely spend a lot of time in Northern Nevada and California, but I'm hoping for dates to come together for a couple of mini-tours (5 - 10 days) in: the Pacific Northwest; one to the east into Colorado; plus some weekends in both Northern and Southern California. If you live in those areas or have friends in those areas, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. Many of my gigs are a result of people telling me about a club in their area where I should play. I approach those clubs and am often able to put together a small tour route, playing dates in towns that I pass through on my way to and from the club I initially got the referral to.
I depart American shores in mid-September to return to Germany to play at Oktoberfest. I play in Southern Bavaria, about an hour south of Munich (by train) and an hour north of Salzburg, Austria. I'm no tour guide, (I have a hard enough time taking care of myself, thank you) but if you would like me to introduce you to my friends in Bernau-am-Chiemsee, Germany, I'll tell you the best way to get there, give you some resources to find places to stay, and then all you have to do is show up! It's definitely a life-changing experience, and one incredibly fun time. Drop me a note if you're serious about it . . .
Please check back for more info regarding my November and December schedules.
